S P O R T I N G C L A S S I C S 2 0 1 Auctions & Exhibitions JULIA'S AUCTION SETS ANOTHER WORLD RECORD James D. Julia's firearms sale in October recorded $19.3 million in sales, yet another consecutive new world record for the highest gross ever attained at one of its auctions. Julia's specializes in expensive, investment-grade firearms. Initial results indicate that 552 lots generated $10,000 or more. What's more, Julia's has offered more prestigious private and institutional collections than any other auction house, and this was once again the case in October. Nine prestigious collections from iconic collectors were sold. The resounding success of the auction serves to drive home the fact that firearms collecting continues to be very much alive, very active, and filled with great passion.
