Your need for healthcare can happen at any time, and Adirondack Health is always ready to exceed your expectations. Whether it is a reassuring hand for a worried parent or making sure a patient has the resources they need to recover after leaving the hospital, our caring and skilled staff strive to go above and beyond. That is why we are proud to be included on the list of Ô100 Great Community HospitalsÕ in the nation by BeckerÕs Hospital Review in 2014. Adirondack Medical Center, a 97-bed facility, is a member of Adirondack Health, the only full-service health system in the Adirondack Park. Some Ògreat community hospitalsÓ are located in suburban areas, but many like ours are in rural areas and serve as the only hospitals in their communities. Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the Ògreat community hospitalsÓ like Adirondack Health have continually worked to provide the quality of care and the experience patients and residents deserve and expect. ÒThis special designation is the result of feedback from our patients and long-term care residents who choose us because they expect and deserve consistent, high- quality care,Ó said Patti Hammond, Chief Operating Officer for Adirondack Health. E ach one of us experiences the care we receive differently. Because of the personal nature of healthcare, there is never a one-size-fits-all solution. Enhancing patient and resident care is an ongoing process involving several different areas of Adirondack Health: Excellus Quality Leaders Award for Infection Prevention Maternity department ranked among Top 10 in New York State for breastfeeding education Wound care program earns "Center of Distinction" national quality award Recognition from New York Organization of Nurse Executives and Leaders for exceptional patient care initiatives Renal dialysis team earns five-diamond award for commitment to best-in-class care for the unique needs of dialysis patients and their families Pharmacy earns quality award for role in prevention of surgical site infections Nora Neely, second from left, and her mom, Candy, traveled from their home in Pennsylvania last summer to thank Adirondack Health staff for the care she received following a serious skiing accident at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center earlier in the year.
