May / June 2015 33 BIG APPLE Boxster Spyder T ico Lemoine isn't a rock star. Nope. A plain ol' rock star doesn't have the juice Tico's got at the New York International Auto Show. I couldn't have gotten a better behind-the-scenes tour of the place if Lady Gaga was giving me a piggyback ride through Manhattan's Javits Center. Tico is the son of KCRPCA member Mike Lemoine and his wife, Gilda, of Leawood. Tico also just happens to be the Regional AfterSales Manager for the New York area for Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). His responsibilities include personal delivery of every 918 sold in New York. To date, Porsche has delivered 36 of those cars worldwide. Tico has delivered 4 of them. He also manages PCNA's display each year at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). So, like Bo, Tico knows . . . basically everybody at the NYIAS. This year, however, the motherland (Porsche AG in Stuttgart) assumed control of the NYIAS display as Porsche was debuting a new model – the Boxster Spyder. That meant Tico was hosting senior executives not only from PCNA in Atlanta, but also from Porsche AG. Still, Tico made time to give a VIP tour to his proud dad along with me and my son, Alex, and 3 other of Tico's close friends. Alex is in Business School at Mizzou with the goal of breaking into the automotive industry. When Mike introduced us to Tico during Porsche Month at the Kansas City Automotive Museum, Tico invited Alex and me to the NYIAS for this all-access tour. He also paved the way for Alex to get a summer internship with PCNA with a recommendation and introductions to the PCNA execs at the show who hire the interns. To say I'm impressed with and indebted to Tico is an understatement. L to R: Jeff Wagoner, Alex Wagoner, Mike Lem- onine and Tico Lemonie
