Then install the followers into their bores.
Now you are ready to install the camshaft
assemblies. I have talked about chain
tensioner pad replacement in the past, so I
am not going to recover that, but make sure
to install new cam tensioner pads before
installing the camshaft assembly.
Then install the camshaft assembly with
the proper factory hold down tools to prevent
camshaft damage. Proper orientation must
be taken when installing the camshafts,
and it does not matter which bank you start
on first. There are notches on the intake
camshaft, and the direction it is pointed will
determine the camshaft position for bank 1
or 2.
Once the camshafts are in place, attach the
chain drive/sprocket to the exhaust camshaft
assembly, then you can install your cam
housing cover.
