Dean of the College of Business Administration Missouri State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Business Administration. The Dean provides academic, administrative, and fiscal leadership to the College and reports directly to the Provost. The Dean also holds the David D. Glass Distinguished Leadership Chair. The University is seeking an individual with the vision and leadership qualities necessary to move an already strong College of Business Administration to the next level. The person selected must have a strong record of academic leadership in higher education, must have a terminal degree in a business- related field, and must possess credentials that qualify him/her for appointment as a full professor in one of the units within the College. Dimensions to be Evaluated: Ability to lead and successfully manage professionals in an academic setting; commitment to excellence in and an appropriate balance of teaching, research, and service; understanding of and experience with the AACSB accreditation process; personal qualities that facilitate working relationships within the University as well as with alumni and business leaders; experience in fundraising, alumni relations, and development activities; a demonstrated commitment to diversity. The University: Missouri State University, located in Springfield, Missouri, is a selective-admissions, multi-campus, comprehensive university with a statewide mission in public affairs. With more than 20,000 students, the University offers over 150 undergraduate and nearly 50 graduate programs. The College of Business Administration is composed of six academic units: the School of Accountancy and the Departments of Computer Information Systems, Finance and General Business, Industrial Management, Management, and Marketing. The College enrolls approximately 4,600 students (4,000 undergraduate and 600 graduate) in 26 undergraduate major options and five graduate programs. In any one year, nearly one-third of the students graduating from Missouri State University are business majors. Anticipated Start Date and Salary: The Search Committee expects to select a new dean during the fall 2008 semester to assume full-time responsibilities prior to the start of the fall 2009 semester. A start date of January 2009 is possible. The salary is highly competitive with AACSB-accredited institutions and commensurate with qualifications and experience. University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Dean of College of Business The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean for the College of Business. With a total enrollment of 12,500 students, UW Osh- kosh is the largest of 11 comprehensive universities in the University of Wisconsin System, offering 55 undergraduate and 15 master's degree programs. The College of Business is AACSB accredited at both the undergraduate and gradu- ate levels and serves approximately 1,800 undergraduate students and 600 MBA students. Currently with 47 faculty members and 22 staff members, the college is continuing to grow and has recently developed a number of new centers of excellence and functional emphases. Requirements: The ideal candidate's academic creden- tials will include a record of achievement and administrative experience appropriate to appointment at the senior rank of associate or full professor. Successful candidates will also have excellent communication skills and be comfortable representing the college to a diverse range of audiences, as well as a strong desire to develop and maintain links between the college and regional, national and international business communities. Additional requirements include administra- tive experience in higher education or a comparable complex organization. The candidate must demonstrate a record of solid teaching and publications in professional journals, and a commitment to diversity, student learning and engagement, faculty development, and the ideals of shared governance. Preferences: Preference given to those candidates hold- ing a Ph.D. in one of the disciplines taught in the College of Business, and those having experience with the AACSB accreditation process. Further, the preferred candidate should have a record of visionary, innovative leadership and proven fund-raising capabilities, effective human and finan- cial resource management, and academic excellence.
