eptember 12 was a
perfect day, with mild
temperatures and sun-
shine - and starting around
3:30 pm, it became even bet-
ter with an afternoon drive
in the Porsche. The destina-
tion was the Rand's in Blue
Springs for KCR PCA's Ok-
toberfest celebration.
The Rand's home is pictur-
esque, with a long tree lined
asphalt drive, turnaround
circle and adjacent lake.
This is an excellent setting
to park under the trees; 27
Porsches of all years, types
and colors in all their glory.
By 5 pm, the front yard was
full of Porsches and mem-
bers were enjoying large
baked pretzels along with
their favorite German bev-
erage. It was a great munch
and stroll activity; touring
the grounds, reflecting on
the calm waters and discuss-
