Center Stage at the NKBA Booth (#N2163) will offer an exciting assortment of complimentary programs and presentations to keep you engaged and stimulated through the three- day show period. At Center Stage, don't forget to meet the newly inducted 30 U 30 group, attend the NKBA U Professional of the Year presentations and winner announcements, and hear from industry experts on the latest trends and topics! Here are the highlights of some of the program offerings: TUESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2016 NKBA 30 Under 30 Introductions to the Industry 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. • Stop by the NKBA booth #N2163 and meet the 30 Under 30 recipients, the voice and the next generation of kitchen and bath professionals. This group will be gathering information throughout the show to present their findings on the latest industry trends on Wednesday afternoon, back at Center Stage at 3:00 p.m. NKBA U Professional of the Year – Finals and Winner Announcement 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. • The second NKBA U Professional of the Year Contest culminates on Center Stage in the NKBA booth. Finalists will go before a panel of NKBA judges to describe how the NKBA University courses they took will help fuel their success. Tile and Stone Trends for Kitchen and Bath (Gerald Sloan and Michael Whistler) 2:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. • Ceramic tile and natural stone are ideal products for use in kitchens and baths. Technological advancements in manufacturing and fabrication offer increased versatility and creative design opportunities to use these products in exciting new ways and formats. To keep pace with technology, many new standards and methods have been created to provide guidance for both the design and installation of these products. This session explores significant changes to the industry and will discuss the opportunities to be creative with these versatile and beautiful products. Outstanding Media Awards 4:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. • KBIS is pleased to recognize, for the fourth consecutive year, a member of the media for their continued support and promotion of the kitchen and bath industry through the KBIS Outstanding Media Award. Prior to the show, the public was asked to nominate members of the press, who were then reviewed by a jury of industry professionals to narrow the group down to a list of five finalists. The public will then take to the KBIS Facebook Page to vote for the winner. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2016 Silestone Trendspotters Talk Color & Design for 2016 (Presented by Cosentino) 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. • Join the Silestone Trendspotters, Theresa Casey, Steffany Hollingsworth, Christopher Kennedy, Denise McGaha, Drew McGukin and Cheryl KeesClendenon, for an insightful discussion on color and design trends for the kitchen and bath. The Trendspotters, a group of renowned designers from across North America who collaborated with Silestone, will discuss their new quartz color series and lend their regional design insight to forecast what colors will take center stage in 2016. Tiny Homes – How to Add Luxury (Amy Herion) 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. • The tiny house movement has exploded in popularity across the United States in recent years. People may be looking to downsize their footprint, but not their creature comforts. In this talk, we'll discuss how compact and efficient appliances with a touch of luxury take center stage in a tiny living space. Presentations by the NKBA 30 Under 30 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. • The 30 Under 30 program at the show culminates with their presentations to the industry. This year's group searched the show floor and researched various topics concerning the kitchen and bath industry. Topics include: Selling or working with different generations – challenges and solutions, Virtual Showrooms vs. brick and mortar showrooms, New Product Trends, Social Media's role in business, Colors/finish trends, and The Future of the Kitchen and Bath Industry. Designing & Selling with 3D Software (Scott Harris, CKD, CBD, Chief Architect) 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. • Do you see designers using software to show clients design options to sell projects? Are you able to quickly show options to your clients? Learn to take full advantage of today's 3D design software providing clients with timely, visual, and dynamic designs.
