DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OFMANAGEMENT One of Simmons's innovative, professional Schools seeks new leadership. Just starting its second century, Simmons is an authority on women, education for the professions, leadership, and diversity. The breadth and flexibility of its programs and the quality of its faculty and students have created a small, ambitious, urban university focused on liberal and professional education with particular emphasis on paving the way for women to succeed in the workplace and as leaders. The School of Management is a national center for women, leadership, and organizational study. It offers the only MBA designed specifically for women. Since 1974, it has pursued the mission of educating women for power and leadership. The School offers the MBA, an undergraduate major, and executive programs while actively serving organizations committed to the success of women managers and leaders. Enrollment is c. 400 students and full-time faculty number 23. The School uses the case method and sponsors the Center for Gender and Organizations, its research arm, and an annual Women's Leadership Conference, the largest women's conference in the northeast. Simmons seeks Deans who can build and develop its Schools. Deans are appointed by, report to, and deal directly with the President. Because Simmons does not have a provost, its deans have enhanced authority and responsibility. Its schools work best when their leaders comfortably promote diversity, gender equity, and interdisciplinary initiatives; when their approach to work is hands-on and of exceptional rigor; and when their decision-making is open, rational, and inclusive. Deans must bring substantial experience in their fields, an informed vision of the future of their professions, and track records of personal scholarly achievement. Inquiries, referrals, and resumes should be sent (electronic submission encouraged), in confidence, with a cover letter to: Beverly Brady; Email: 2858@imsearch.com; Internal Box 2858; Isaacson, Miller; 334 Boylston Street, Suite 500; Boston, MA 02116; For additional information, please see www.simmons.edu.
