January / February 2016 28 all the P Cars were and the 918 visible from everywhere in Building 6. BMW did not have a just any mere display, they had an entire two story build - ing that is the size of Bartle Hall complete with a two story amphitheater where cars swoop in, stop on one of four turn tables, then take off. BMW owned Mini and Rolls Royce are housed here as well. As one walks about BMW's building, you can randomly have an i8 or M6 fly by you on a track con - nected to the amphitheater. Seriously. The IAA was over the top on concept reveals. Porsche's futuristic looking Mission E concept, a fully electric four seat sports car was best re - veal of the show to me. The Mission E has a range of 310 miles, and is as fast as a 911. Porsche claims that it can be charged by an 800 volt char- ger at and get 80% range in 15 minutes. The construc- tion of the Mission E utilizes a lot of carbon fiber to keep weight low. Sadly, being a concept, it is still years away from production but Porsche was adamant that the Mis - sion E will be built and is go- ing to be an all electric Tesla fighter. Best looking reveal was Bugatti's Vision GT Con - cept is slated only for a game console near you and it's not intended for produc- tion, but man what a looker. Mercedes Benz's odd look- ing reveal was the Concept IAA which changes shape to optimize its aerodynamics. It looked like it would be a perfect fit for a 1930s Flash Gordon movie.
