As chief academic officer of the College of Business and Public Administration, the Dean is responsible for the academic, personnel, curricular, financial, and administrative affairs of the College. The Dean is also responsible for seeking public and private funds to support further growth and development of the College. The College has seven endowed chairs to advance its scholarly research mission. In addition to their teaching, scholarly research, and service on the Louisville campus, the college's faculty staffs MBA programs in Athens, Singapore, and Panama. A joint MBA program with two German institutions begins Summer 2002 on the Louisville campus. There are seven undergraduate degree programs and six graduate degree programs. AACSB International accredits the college, and the MPA is accredited by NASPAA. There is a doctoral degree in urban and public affairs. In recent years the MBA entrepreneurship concentration has earned a national reputation, the college has taken a leadership position in economic development in its region, and is considered a vital partner by area business executives and government officials. The college's mission and vision statements include specific references to preparing students to launch new ventures or to revitalize established organizations. The annual operating budget is approximately $15 million, and the college had a $31 million endowment (market value), as of December 31, 2001. The college's 17,000 alumni are in 49 U.S. states and 32 countries. CANDIDATES are generally expected to have an earned terminal degree appropriate to area of specialization; academic qualifications suitable for appointment at the rank of tenured full professor; a record of accomplishment in scholarship; successful administrative and teaching experience in higher education; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ongoing activity in professional organizations; a commitment to recruitment of faculty, staff and students from culturally diverse backgrounds; and the ability to provide academic vision and leadership. Associate Dean for Executive Education The Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for Executive Education. Weatherhead seeks an exceptional individual with vision, entrepreneurial skills and experi- ence to lead its programs in professional and leadership develop- ment. This person will report to Dr. Mohsen Anvari, Dean of the Weatherhead School of Management, and will assist the School fully to realize its commitment to delivering unparalleled educational experiences in its programs of Executive Education. The Associate Dean will develop and espouse the broad vision for the programs and services within the School and University; initiate outreach and communication with corporate and other communi- ties to both identify critical needs and to attract their engagement in programs; and work collaboratively with Weatherhead faculty and staff to conceive, design and implement programs. The Weatherhead School enrolls approximately 1,900 students in a broad range of graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs, including more than a dozen joint degree programs co-sponsored with other schools within the University. These programs are led by 97 full-time faculty members, who also engage in world-class schol- arship and research.
