  2    About  Career  Services     Professional  staff  members  are   available  to  advise  students  in  all   majors  and  career  fields.    If  you  are   unsure  about  your  career  future  or   your  program  of  study,  take   advantage  of  a  variety  of  online   assessments  to  expand  your   knowledge  of  self  and  career  options.         An  appointment  may  be  scheduled   with  an  advisor  to  discuss   major/minor  selection,  and  topics   related  to  your  job/internship  search.   To  schedule  an  appointment,  contact   the  office  at  989.774.3068  or  visit  us   in  Ronan  240.     All  the  services  offered  by  Career   Services,  in  addition  to  staff  contact   information  can  be  found  at   http://www.careers.cmich.edu.   REACH  Advisors  network  with   classrooms,  student  organizations   and  d epartments  on  campus  to   facilitate,  enhance  and  encourage   peers  to  increase  awareness  of  the   different  options  of  career  paths  and   how  to  build  the  n ecessary  skills  early   on  during  the  college  years.     REACH  Advisors  hold  résumé  and   cover  letter  walk-‐in  hours  each  week.   Check  out  the  Career  Services   website  for  times!   To  request  a  presentation,  conducted   by  a  REACH  Advisor,  contact  Career   Services  or  through  e-‐mail  at:     cmureachadvisors@gmail.com     Career  Central  is  a  management  tool   to  view  upcoming  career-‐related   events  and  serves  as  the  job  and   internship  board  for  positions  sent  to   the  office.  Search,  apply,  and  track   on-‐line  applications  for  on-‐campus   interviews,  state  and  nation-‐wide   internships  and  career  positions.     You  can  also  obtain  valuable   employer  contact  information.       Mock  Interviews  provide  an   opportunity  to  practice   communication  skills  and  personal   selling  techniques  prior  to  actual   interviews  with  employers.       The  practice  interview  is  a  recorded   session  with  an  intern  who  is   trained  to  provide  feedback  about   verbal  and  n onverbal  interviewing   techniques.     To  set  up  a  Mock  Interview,  visit   Career  Central   (http://cmich.experience.com);  you   must  have  an  up-‐to-‐date  résumé   uploaded  to  the  system  in  order  to   schedule  an  interview.         Remember  to  dress  professionally   and  show  up  a  few  minutes  early,   in  Ronan  240,  for  your  scheduled   interview  time!   All  majors  are  welcome  to   participate  in  this  fabulous  career   experience  in  Lansing.     Opportunities  are  available  to  work   in  a  legislative/executive  branch  or   a  State  department  office.     Academic  credit  may  be  also   earned.  The  internship  is  offered   spring,  summer,  and  fall  semesters   and  offers  flexible  hours  based  on   your  schedule.    Free  transportation   and  p arking  twice  a  week  to  the   Capitol  can  also  be  arranged!
