September / October 2016 8 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? I was born in KC as a third generation Kansas Citian. 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? Gilda and I have been married for 46 years and we are proud parents of two sons and two beautiful granddaughters. Tico lives in NYC and is the Regional After Sales Manager with Porsche N.A. John lives in Miami and is in the entertainment industry. 3. What is your background or profession? Hallmark Cards Inc. and Hallmark (HK) Ltd. were my employers for 44 years until my retirement in 2010. Most of my career was spent in Operations, Product Management and Global Procurement with extensive overseas travel and a 2 year assignment in England and Ireland and an eleven year assignment in Hong Kong and South East Asia. I am also an ARMY Viet Nam veteran, with 32 years of combined active duty, National Guard and U.S.A.R. Service. I retired in 1994 with the permanent rank of Colonel finishing my career as the Executive Officer of the 325th. (1000 bed) Army Hospital. 4. When did you join PCA? I am a more recent member of PCA, joining in Sept. 2013. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? I am the super proud owner of 3 Porsches. 1988 911 Carrera Cabriolet 2002 996 Carrera Cabriolet 2016 Boxster Spyder 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? With 3 super delightful and very different vintages of Porsches- it is impossible to come up with one favorite thing! My response would have to be the highly technical evolution of an amazing sports car brand that has remained true to its' original styling and racing heritage! 7. What have you done to personalize it? My gig has always been to maintain noteworthy cars in as close to pristine condition as possible. I enjoy the challenge of maintaining my Porsches in close to original showroom presentation, without modifications. 8. Favorite memory with car - or funny story?
