September / October 2016 18 L ast issue, I started reviewing different products used to clean and detail your Porsche. I started with Chemical Guys, whose line of products cover just about anything you can do to clean your Porsche. I'm going to continue with their line of product used on the car's finish. I have broken down their line of exterior products into six categories: 1) Car wash products 2) Clay bar products 3) Polishing compounds 4) Glazes 5) Waxes 6) Finishing and detailing sprays I started with a review of their 5050 Carnauba wax; giving my thoughts on the wax and sharing their reviews and YouTube videos. I am going to continue this and cover what I think is the most skipped step of detailing your Porsche; Glaze!! Glazing your car is very important, if you want a deep wet shine on your car. Glaze fills minor swirls and scratches, adds tons of extra gloss, shine and that deep-wet look to your finish. Chemical Guys have several different glazes, but so far I have only used two of them. Their Glossworkz Ultimate Glaze and White Light Glaze. Chemical guys Glossworkz Glaze is a premium glaze that can be used on all automotive colors, while their White Light Glaze is specially designed to work on white and silver finishes. Both of them work in the same way to correct small flaws and add that deep-wet glossy look to your car. Glaze is the detailer's secret for adding extra shine and depth to any vehicle. Novice detailers and enthusiasts think of wax as the one product that "makes cars shiny." Professional detailers and hardcore enthusiasts know that glaze is the secret step to adding extra shine, depth, and that deep-wet look to any car. Glaze may be an extra step in the detailing flowchart, but the premium look it gives to your finish is definitely a must for the most demanding car enthusiasts. Not only do I pick a glaze for the look it gives your car, I want it to be easy to use. I like a glaze to buff off the car without much effort leaving no residue in the seams and joints. All of the glazes and waxes that I have used from Chemical Guys require very little effort to buff out. Let's look at how Chemical Guys describes both of these glazes: How It Works The detailer's secret for adding tons of extra gloss and shine to any finish is the glaze. Chemical Guys Glossworkz Glaze is a premium self-leveling glaze that fills micro-scratches, warms the glow, deepens the depth, and enhances the reflection on any vehicle. Use Glossworkz Glaze after a clay bar service, but before applying your sealant or wax coating for extra gloss and shine. Micro-refined oils and leveling agents fill light scratches and swirls to reduce their appearance and enhance reflection. Specialty gloss enhancers brighten shine and enhance the "wet" look on paintwork. Strong UVA/UVB blockers help reject harmful solar rays and maintain the look and integrity of your paint finish for years to come. Glossworkz Glaze is eye candy for your car!
