September / October 2016 38 TECH EVENT RECAP By Agelon T Jones Tech Event Review DR. DENT M agic. I just witnessed magic. First it was there, then it wasn't. I had taken my Porsche to the good folks at Dr. Dent to fix a ding that had been bothering me. I was blown away by their... magic. I knew this would make a great Tech Event for the KCRPCA. For those who are not familiar with Dr. Dent, they have highly skilled craftsmen who have mastered the art of paintless dent repair. Paintless dent repair is the process of removing hail damage, dings and other types of minor damage from a vehicle. This process is a great choice if your vehicle's surface is intact and the paint hasn't been damaged. So, on Saturday, July 9th KCRPCA members had the opportunity to experience the magic and hospitality of Dr. Dent's co-owners and staff. They did not disappoint. Justen Green, Daniel Grimm and their employees opened their shop, and hearts, to us. The event was a success even though an early afternoon rain shower reduced the 55 registered members down to 37. The event began with everyone entering a KCRPCA provided raffle, hoping to win the $250 gift card for services with Dr Dent. Dr. Dent staff explained the paintless repair process, did demos and even allowed several members to try their hand at removing dents from a truck hood that was staged for maximum viewing. The employees were very gracious and answered every question throughout the afternoon. They looked at several member's cars, offered advice, and scheduled some for repairs. Photos by Stan Thorne
