285 After preparing your environment for teak cleaning moisten the furniture with clean water. Then apply teak cleaner(PNT-00359) with a soft cloth or a clean sponge. Allow the cleaner to soak in for 3 minutes. (Use gloves.) Next brush the wood clean with a scrubbing pad that is provided with the teak cleaner bottle or soft brush in the direction of the wood grain. After the cleaner is applied the product has to completely dry before applying teak protector. Example: Weathered teak is a hand applied oil-based finish designed to achieve an out-of-the-box, aged teak appearance. The raw teak wood is distressed to achieve the aged texture and to open the pores creating adhesion for the multi-layered Weathered Teak finish. Clean your teak product before winter storage and then prior to regular usage. Once the product is cleaned and completely dry it may be placed in rain, sun or snow. If you prefer the color of new teak, use Teak Cleaner first to restore the color and apply the Teak Protector to preserve the color. If you only clean the teak wood it will continue to grey and age when exposed to the outdoor environment. The weathered teak finish is intended to be a maintenance free finish but some cleaning over time will be needed. Spring, summer and early fall this bench sat in a wooded area under oak, hickory and gum ball trees. It was not cleaned for 6 months. • Black dots are easily cleaned with teak cleaner. Black dots are not to be considered a defect. • Yellowing is the aging of the natural wood under the weathered finish. This will fade away once exposed to the sun. Black dots, yellowing, dark streaks and even insects & bugs are part of this products response to extreme outdoor conditions of rain, heat and sun light. How to use For the restoration of Weathered, Gray Teak and other hardwoods. Cleaner & Brightener in one. Easy to Apply. Cleaner TEAK
