his building company, but it has nothing
to do with luck or mythical forces. All of
his projects turn to gold because of his
hard work, dedication, good sense and
passion.
There is nothing Dubb is more pas-
sionate about than the Anna House, a
daycare center for the children of back-
stretch workers located at Belmont
Park. He refers to the center as his great-
est accomplishment in racing and it was
this labor of love that eventually turned
Dubb from racing fan to horse owner.
"Approximately 20 years ago, I was very
friendly with [Hall of Fame jockey] Jerry
Bailey," the lifelong Nassau County res-
ident said. "I actually met him through
a tennis game. Jerry was telling me one
day that the children of the people who
take care of the horses really don't have
anywhere to go while their parents are
working. He said they sleep in cars or in
basement apartments being looked af-
ter by older siblings and they needed a
place to go. As a builder, I always wanted
Dubb at the new Belmont
dorms.
