THE USA HOCKEY FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC Monday, August 27, 2012 | Salem Country Club | Peabody, Massachusetts T Golfing For Good he second annual USA Hockey Foundation Golf Classic raised nearly $40,000 through the generosity of 72 golfers and hockey enthusiasts at the exclusive Salem Country Club in Peabody, Massachusetts, on August 27. Thanks to sponsor New England Schooner (neschooner.com) and hosts Raymond and Michelle Jacques, all funds generated by the event went directly to support the programs and initiatives of The USA Hockey Foundation. The field of golfers was filled with hockey supporters and local business leaders highlighted by the presence of 1980 Miracle on Ice goaltender Jim Craig. College hockey coaches, former NHL players and Olympians were also scattered across the pristine Salem Country Club course. USA Hockey Paralympian and sled hockey team captain Taylor Chace joined 1952 Olympic goalie Don Whiston as two of the seven 4 Paralympian Taylor Chace (L) joined Olympians (L to R) Tom Martin, Don Whiston, Jim Craig, Jim Logue, Stu Irving and Lane MacDonald at Salem Country Club to support The USA Hockey Foundation. Olympic and Paralympians in attendance. NHL legend Ray Bourque was joined by New York Rangers assistant coach Mike Sullivan. ESPN's John Buccigross also participated, bringing along his hockey-playing son Jackson as well. The money raised during this event will help The USA Hockey Foundation advance hockey in the United States by providing educational funding, elite athlete support and resources for growth initiatives.
