H
aving grown up
in a rural envi-
ronment, where
needing some-
thing could only
be solved by getting in your
car, I've always been drawn to
downtown areas and the ability
to walk places. Just as the TDN
is situated (and not by chance)
on the main street in the small
city of Red Bank, NJ, my ho-
tel choices are always similar-
ly chosen: walking for drinks,
dinner, shopping, or morning
Starbucks is a requirement. I
spend easily over a month in
Lexington each year, and while
I might need my vehicle to get
back and forth to Fasig-Tipton,
Keeneland, or to farms, the car
remains firmly in the hands of
valet parking once the day's
work is over.
