But staying in downtown Lex-
ington was a mixed blessing, as
the city never had a truly great
hotel; trust me, I've stayed
at them all–the big concrete
chains and the smaller B&Bs.
So the January, 2106 opening
of Lexington's 21c Hotel was a
very welcome event. Suffice to
say, my Lexington hotel hunt is
over.
The 21c chain, which now
comprises seven hotels in the
South and Midwest, recently
saw all seven of those ranked
among the top hotels in the
world by Conde Nast Traveler.
Five of them were named Top
Hotels in the South, includ-
ing the 21c Lexington, which
scored the highest of the
group at #6. 21c Nashville was
15; Louisville, 17; Durham, 22
and Bentonville, Arkansas, 37.
