Denny became so enamored of and impressed with what has become Patty and Carmine's mission in life that he stepped in early this year when Carmel Dogcare's previous loca- tion was sold by the property owner. "I could promise them I could keep them there forever," Denny says of his acquisition of the Hatton dairy farm. "I made myself happy, the dogs happy, I made Jeanne happy! Happy days were here again for everyone!" he says, beaming with his signature good cheer. Legendary local actor, producer and director Clint Eastwood and Christina Sandera are also major fans of Carmel Dogcare. "We've been taking our dogs to Patty and Carmine for care while we travel for coming up on five years," Eastwood says. "Up until that point, we'd never left the two older dogs with anyone—ever! So naturally, we were a bit nerv- ous. And our Catahoula seemed unsure and would whine and jump into our arms with such joy and excitement when we came to pick them up. But not for long...Very quickly, these dogs fig- ured out that they were at some kind of really fun summer camp, beach trips included. And naps on the furniture, good stuff. So now, when we pick them up after missing them so much, their expression seems to say something closer to, 'What, already?!'"
