Despite the problem's ubiquitous nature, cross-functional collaborations to discuss sticking across the pharmaceuti- cal industry have either been very limited or absent alto- gether. To address this gap and facilitate precompetitive dialogue on this important topic, in 2016 the International Consortium for Innovation and Quality in Pharmaceutical Development (IQ Consortium) formed a Sticking during tablet compression is a problem that the phar- maceutical industry has faced since the advent of the dosage form more than 100 years ago, yet it is still a relatively poorly understood phenomenon. This article presents the results of a survey of IQ Consortium member companies that focused on the prevalence of sticking, the state of predictive tools and mod- els, and experiential solutions to mitigate the problem.
