International visitors can fly to Charles
de Gaulle or Orly airports with easy trans-
fers to the city. If you're travelling from
the UK, by far the easiest way is to catch
the Eurostar from London St Pancras (or
farther south at Ebbsfleet or Ashford) and
you'll find yourself in the heart of Paris at
Gare du Nord in a little over two hours.
On race day, it's easy to take a taxi from
the centre of Paris, but be sure to specify
to the driver that you are going to Hip-
podrome de Longchamp as there are two
racecourses in the Bois de Boulogne, the
other being the jumps track, Auteuil.
You could also catch the 241 bus for
Longchamp, and on the Saturday and Sun-
day of the Arc meeting there are free shut-
tle buses in operation, running from either
the Porte d'Auteuil or Porte Maillot every
15 minutes between 12 noon and 7 p.m.
To make reservations for lunch at Paris-
Longchamp, email commercial@france-ga-
lop.com or visit www.parislongchamp.com.
