ORGANIZATION q Page 8 Welcome Alexandra (Alex) Manning, new contracted editor of ICT Today, BICSI's premier industry journal. Alex joins the ICT Today staff with more than 20 years of ICT industry experience. She began her career as a marketing-financial analyst with Northern Telecom (Nortel), where she became hooked on technology. Alex later accepted various marketing and communications management positions that heightened her knowledge of technology and helped to strengthen her writing skills. As the Internal Communications Manager at Research Triangle Institute (RTI International), Alex worked with 19 technical centers, and managed and wrote RTI This Week. She was also a marketing communications manager with InterLAN Technologies, where she wrote all technical communication materials. Alex spent nearly 16 years at Sumitomo Electric Lightwave as the marketing and communications manager. While there, she served for nearly six years as Communications Chair for TIA's Fiber Optic Technology Consortium. She is also a member of Women in BICSI. For the past three years, Alex managed her freelance ICT marketing communications and technical writing business. There she wrote published technical articles, case studies, white papers, and many other technical communication pieces.
