(1.8 miles round trip), Cedar Ridge (3 miles),
and Skeleton Point (6 miles). We arrived to
Ooh Aah in good order and decided to forge
ahead, but by Cedar Ridge, we knew it was
best we turn around.
Research had warned us that the steepness
of that particular trail is especially misleading
and that it takes twice as long to go up as it
does down. We took our time, took countless
pictures, and spent the entire hike in awe of
our surroundings. Our other travel buddy, the
TDN's own Kelsey Riley, is one of the fittest
people you will ever meet, and she did decide
to run up the last bit back to the top. Kelsey
is not your average person. Bring water, and
don't be afraid to stop when needed. Almost
everyone does.
