Creamy Indulgence On-The-Go SiG MT 13 URBAN AFFAIRS Neighborhoods Montana Cheesecake Company - Joni Flesch • 542 1st Avenue South Joni Flesch can still recall the luxurious experience of her first cheesecake dessert. She was 14 when she tasted the pumpkin-flavored indulgence, and she was hooked. "I had to learn how to make it," she says, with a tone of determination still lingering in her voice. What started as a passion to create a creamy, decadent treat has morphed into a thriving business with a devoted following of customers eager to sample her latest creations. "Pretty soon, it turned into 200 flavors," she says with a laugh. A recent expansion has allowed Tammy to bring in a large selection of yarn, and knitting classes will also be added to the shops already-bustling event calendar. "We offer tons of support to answer questions and help our customers when they find themselves stuck during a project," Tammy adds. She is especially interested in exposing the younger generation to the world of fabric arts, and holds free classes for kids every couple of months. Many customers have told her that Sew Pieceful's vibrance and selection rivals those in larger cities – a particularly large feat in a rural community. "I've grown incredible relationships," she says. "And the community has been incredibly supportive." Lewistowns Sew Pieceful is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out their Facebook page to register for upcoming classes and projects. Phone: 535-3122 Bright, bold colors and patterns inspire an array of exciting creations at Sew Pieceful. Why not order up a variety pack for your next sweet fix? S MT Joni opened the Montana Cheesecake Company in August, and has been steadily doling out an array of cheesecake cupcakes from her kiosk ever since. The menu is always a surprise – even to her. "I don't really know what I'm going to make each day until I get started," she explains. "We do about 25 flavors daily and when they're gone, they're gone!" While traditional flavors still frequent the menu, Joni's creative concoctions are among her best-sellers. If you happen to drive up when Joni is working on a new flavor, you might end up being the taste-tester she's looking for! Peanut butter, eggnog, key lime and white chocolate raspberry are at the top of the list, but people also flock in for outrageous flavors like jalapeño/habanero or bacon. Joni even has gluten-free cheesecake pops on a stick. Not only are her treats delicious – they're also exquisitely adorned. The Montana Cheesecake Company accepts orders for traditionally-sized desserts, special events, and custom flavors or designs. The Montana Cheesecake Company is located in the Montana Family Dentistry parking lot, and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Phone: (406) 366-9599 S MT
