Room PAINTER Bialczak also will be exhibiting several reliefs (sculpted, painted, three- dimensional artworks) as well as paintings of Western wildlife. "I started painting buffalo this year and will have 5" x 7" grizzly bear paintings for sale. Our art is priced reasonably; we try to keep the customer in mind, try to keep it affordable." Many Western Heritage artists proudly hail from Central Montana and share that pride through their work. "This show gives me the opportunity to showcase Central Montana to those who never make it east of the [Rocky] Mountains," says Big Sandy, Montana artist Craig Edwards. "Central Montana ag life is my passion. I'm also a farmer, so my work showcases the prairie and my connection to agriculture," adds Edwards. This year's show also features a Western Art Rodeo Association (WARA) Jackpot Rodeo on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Artists are invited to submit two pieces for this juried competition. Part of a national circuit, the WARA operates much like the PRCA, with artists presenting their work before a team of judges. Judges score the work on the excellence of the media and award points; top scorers win money and prizes. Additional art rodeos continue throughout the year with points accumulated toward the World Standings. Other highlights include a Quick Finish Benefit, Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., a poolside wine-and-cheese event in which artists will race against the clock to create an original piece. These pieces will later be auctioned along with others; a silent auction will follow. Finally, the show will feature paintings of Bev Tietien, the late founder of WHA. The paintings will be on sale Wednesday through Sunday. Doug Worrell Criag Edwards Criag Edwards
