from a North African-inspired starter of harissa cauliflower and
delicata squash with chickpeas, feta, dukkah, and maple; Ha-
waiian poké bowls; and Italian pasta dishes.
R&R Kitchen and Bar and Upstairs at 43 Phila are about a
five-minute walk from Pavilion Grand on, of course, Phila Street.
R&R is located in the downstairs section of the building in a
dark, warm setting. One of the largest bars in Saratoga lines one
side of the room opposite tables flanking a brick wall adorned
with caricatures of presumed regulars and friends. Upstairs at
43 Phila, only open for private events during the off-season, is a
more upscale, traditional dining room option.
Chef Bowden's eclectic menu at this location also offers com-
forting creations from around the globe—there's a truly deli-
cious scallion pancake unlike anything you've ever experienced
from a Chinese take-out spot; Vietnamese chicken wings; Indian
lamb meatballs with vindaloo sauce; Mediterranean octopus a
la plancha. And that's just the small plates.
While Pavilion Grand provides respite and relaxation from a
busy travel schedule, you'll still have plenty of chances to stamp
your passport at its related restaurants without ever venturing
more than a few furlongs from the track.
