SECOND PLACE / LARGE LUXURY BATH
Vaulted Vibes
The primary goal in this master bath was
to create a sense of airiness, clean
sophistication, and optimism to help the
clients start their day on the right foot.
Formerly filled with oversized and underused
1970s-era design features and lacking
storage space, the bathroom's style and
functionality needed a breath of fresh air.
Designer Paul Bentham played to the space's
strengths: a vaulted ceiling clad in warm-
toned wood, balanced with porcelain and
concrete floors and walls in neutral tones.
To provide space for an expanded vanity,
Bentham relocated the existing shower
room to the other side of the bath, while
the vanity itself was made to look as though
it hovers, its pedestal support camouflaged
by tile that matches the floor and is under-
lit with LEDs. —K.C.
