Designer Negar Reihani removed an over-size underutilized tub to make space for a new custom shower enclosure. Gray and white Statuario marble tile covers the walls, and matching tile in a chevron pattern clads the shower floor and niche. A custom bleached oak vanity warms the cool neutrals of the tile. To avoid the clutter of a double sink, Reihani topped the vanity with a single long trough sink and two wall-mounted faucets. She removed an outdated wall of glass block, compensating for the loss of natural light by adding a wall of mirrored cabinet doors, which both bounce light around the room while elegantly concealing storage. Stainless steel accents, such as the cabinet hardware, faucets, and light fixtures, complete the clean, bright space. —A.H. Pacific Paradise Seeking the solace found at the nearby Pacific Ocean, the clients wanted a master bath that is an expansive retreat for pausing and pampering. After removing the existing tub, Rosella Gonzalez created an extra-large shower space with a mix of metallics, four types of tile, a calming yet charismatic color palette, and simple faucets and fittings. The shower's opening offers a visual match for the room's elongated window, with bottom-hung rain glass and a clear ocean view on the top. Over the vanity, large, black-framed mirrors complement the black and brass floating shelves. Framed by the white wall and mint-hued backsplash, the dual sinks offer visual symmetry. —K.C.
