and on arrival into Banff, enjoy a sightseeing tour including Bow River, the Hoodoos and Bow Falls. You're Invited: Ride the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain for incredible views across the Rockies. Meet a retired Canadian Mountie who will recount exciting and colourful stories of their rich history and traditions. Enjoy the sweeping views while dining on a hearty meal. Two Night Stay: Ptarmigan Inn. Day 8: Wolfdog Sanctuary (FB) You're Invited: Make your way to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. Dedicated to the rescue and safe haven for neglected or displaced wolfdogs, this is a unique and special experience that will get you up close to one of the most regal animals in the Rockies. Your guide will explain the significance of wolves and wolfdogs in the wild as you are taken inside the enclosures for an up close experience with these amazing creatures. Spend the rest of the day enjoying Banff and its many sights. Discover More: Take an incredible helicopter flight, enjoy an outback dinner and wagon ride, or relax on a float trip along the river. Day 9: Banff – South Thompson River (FB,D) Depart Banff National Park and pass from Alberta to British Columbia through three spectacular national parks of Yoho, Glacier and Mount Revelstoke. Travel past primeval forests, ice age glaciers, waterfalls and mountain peaks as you depart the Rockies. You're Invited: Visit Tsútswecw Provincial Park which is known for having one of the largest salmon runs in North America. A Shuswap First Nations guide will join us to share the importance of this land to the original inhabitants. Your cultural interpretive guide will lead you down forested trails sharing teachings about Shuswap traditional landmarks along with different types of plants that are still used today for medicines and food. Late this afternoon, we arrive at our unique ranch style inn located on the shores of the South Thompson River. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and partake in the Canadian campfire tradition of roasting s'mores over the fire pit. Overnight Stay: South Thompson Inn. Day 10: South Thompson River – Whistler (FB) The road meanders through scenic landscapes beside the Thompson and Fraser Rivers. Pass through the sleepy town of Lillooet to the charming alpine resort of Whistler Village. You're Invited: Head to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre for an authentic insight into First Nations culture. Be welcomed by song, then take a stroll through the forest to learn about medicinal plants. Finish with an indigenous tea offering sampling traditional tea and bannock learning the healing properties of the tea. Two Night Stay: Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa. Day 11: Bear safari (FB) You're Invited: Whistler's mountains are known to support large populations of black bears and is one of the best places to spot these incredible animals. Board our jeeps and travel scenic mountain routes along back country roads in search of black bears. It's not uncommon to see bears foraging on the side of the trail or grazing on the mountain slopes. If luck is on your side, this could be one of the most memorable days of your tour. Day 12: Georgia Strait – Victoria (FB) Travel along the Sea to Sky Highway following the rugged coastline stopping at the awesome Shannon Falls. Board the BC ferry and cruise through the Georgia Strait to Vancouver Island before arriving into Victoria, British Columbia's capital city. Two Night Stay: Chateau Victoria. Day 13: Victoria – Butchart Gardens (FB,HD) You're Invited: This morning, our last dedicated wildlife viewing activity is a whale watching and marine life spotting tour. The waterways in this region are known for supporting numerous pods of orcas, humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, otters and an array of bird life. Jump on board and head into the Haro Strait and Georgia Strait. The most commonly seen whales include orcas and humpbacks, however minkes and gray whales are sometimes seen too. This is Don's backyard and his final farewell will be to leave you with an astounding knowledge and respect for the immense natural beauty of this region. In the afternoon, visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens, a 22 hectare showplace of magnificent, colourful gardens. Learn about the history and flora while exploring the gardens. You're Invited: Tonight's farewell dinner will be in the Butchart family's former residence or greenhouse. Savour an exquisite meal while enjoying views of the surrounding gardens and sharing stories with new found friends. Day 14: Seattle – 7 Night Alaskan Cruise (FB,D) This morning, we will sadly wave goodbye to Don and transfer on the Victoria Clipper to Seattle. Board your cruise ship and check into your comfortable ocean view stateroom (upgrade to verandah stateroom additional expense) on the luxurious Holland America Cruise Ship ms Eurodam and settle-in for an unforgettable 7 night voyage through the famed Alaskan waterways. Day 15: Scenic Cruising (FB,L,D) Relax as you cruise one of the world's most spectacular waterways. Take advantage of the ship's many outstanding facilities, or simply relax on deck and watch unmatched scenery glide by. Day 16: Stephens Passage – Juneau (FB,L,D) Sail picturesque Stephens Passage known for it's wildlife and dramatic beauty before arriving into Juneau. Founded due to the discovery of gold Juneau became the capital of Alaska. Today, not only is it famous for gold and government but also for breathtaking glaciers and stunning views. It is arguably one of USA's most beautiful capitals. Day 17: Glacier Bay National Park (FB,L,D) Glacier Bay is the highlight of our voyage. It is a breathtaking national park that boasts some of the world's most spectacular tidewater glaciers, such as Margerie Glacier, which often drops colossal chunks of ice into the sea. During your scenic cruise, friendly Park Rangers will join the ship to share their knowledge of this amazing place.
