Recognizing the historical importance of the Honeymoon Coage,
Channing and Donna Hartelius are planning a celebration for
Saturday, September 7, 2019, featuring a reenactment of the
Russells' wedding vows.
e Honeymoon Coage will be open to the public that aernoon,
offering free tours, while Wedsworth Hall on Front Street will host a
pig roast, party, and wedding vow ceremony. Bill Bronson, Great Falls
City Commissioner and local aorney, will bring Charlie Russell's
character to life. Mary Jane Bradbury, Helena-based author,
actress, and previous artist-in residence at the Russell Museum,
will play Nancy.
Electric City Coffee House and Bistro is baking a cake with
the original recipe from Charlie and Nancy's wedding. Cascade's
Driwood Bar and Grill is handling the barbeque and beverages.
Aerward, the Eklegein Jam Band will entertain well into
the evening.
Charlie would likely approve. He was "known for his ability to
celebrate," Hartelius says. "He sometimes went to Great Falls to 'put
on a toot.'"
