Sporting Classics' Awards of Excellence Shooting Sports – Kevin's Plantation Collection F or 40 years the name "Kevin's" has stood for the finest in shooting gear, apparel and accessories, and the best of Old South mercantile service. From the beginning, fine guns have been a cornerstone of the Kevin's mantra. Kevin's latest is the Special Edition Plantation Collection: a beautifully-thought and companionable pair of double shotguns – o/u and s x s – built on Kevin's design by one of the most distinguished names in the Italian trade. Compelling at a glance, these guns incorporate a pleasing blend of English and European styling, full ornamental scroll decoration, lovely finish and some of the finest wood I have seen on guns at this market level. After field-testing a Plantation s x s, I can attest that it performs as good as it looks. Offered at a price-point that bespeaks remarkable value and affordability, the Plantation Collection is destined to be a customer favorite. – Mike Gaddis Sporting Heritage – Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation N ot often in the limelight but always in the forefront, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) played a critical role in 2012 by working with Congress, governors and state legislatures to protect and advance key hunting and angling issues. While we were in the field or on the water, CSF was "on the Hill," helping to ensure that the sportsman's voice was heard on legislative issues that could impact the future of our outdoor traditions. Lack of access to suitable lands and waters for hunting and angling is one of the most pressing concerns of today's sportsmen. In response, CSF supported key legislation that would expand recreational opportunities on federal tracts through the Land and Water Conservation Fund and kept a watchful eye on policies, such as the National Ocean Policy, that might restrict access. The CSF now manages three separate caucus programs: the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses (representing state legislatures in 39 states) and the Governor's Sportsmen's Caucus. – Doug Painter S P O R T I N G C 63 L A S S I C S
