Mid October marked the premier of the Saudi Tech Roadshow, a series of three
events in three major cities in Saudi Arabia. The roadshow began in Jeddah on
13 October, then moved to Riyadh on 15 October, and lastly to Al Khobar on
17 October. More than 340 delegates participated over the three-day show.
Additionally, the Saudi Tech Roadshow had seven sponsors: AlFalak, AT&T
Cabling Systems, Fluke Networks, SETRA/Belden, Trident Technology Services/
Panduit, Vivanco, Siemon, and the Institute of Workplace and Facilities
Management (IWFM) as the supporting association.
The agenda for each of the cities was identical. The technical presentations
provided 45 minutes each of outstanding content on the following topics: "Digital
Ceiling Lighting and Cabling Design Challenges," "Construction Products' Regula-
tion - Details, Comparison and Experiences," "Will My Fiber Support the Application
I Have Today? Will My Fiber Support the Application I Will Use Tomorrow?" and
"Edge Data Center."
Dr. Taseer A. Rangrez, DBA, Ph.D., BICSI EMEA Advisory Committee Chair and
Paul Weintraub, RCDD, ESS, RTPM, TECH, CAE, BICSI Vice President of Global
Development & Support, were also in attendance. The event concluded with
a networking lunch.
The first BICSI EMEA Tech Roadshow was a triumph given the attendance,
local interest and engagement. BICSI members and credential holders
based in Saudi Arabia were delighted that BICSI staff and volunteers were
there to answer questions face to face. The ICT/
ELV professionals in attendance were enthusiastic
to learn about BICSI products and services and
how they can expand their knowledge
and enhance their professional stature.
