FEATURE Page 3 (continued on page 4) MODERNIZED BICSI LEARNING ACADEMY OFFERS ENHANCED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE BICSI Learning Academy is ready to take training to the next level. After an extensive renovation and modernization of our Tampa, Florida site, BICSI World Headquar- ters has evolved to become a smart build- ing, complete with new and redesigned technology infrastructure and complex systems. Students will appreciate the enhanced learning experience from the moment they step foot in the new BICSI Learning Academy entrance. The BICSI Learning Academy facility has been expanded to 15,000 square feet and now includes four spacious class- rooms, a large, contemporary student lounge area, a café, media area and an open view of a modern equipment room, showcasing the application of PoE and internet of things (IoT) in a sustainably smart building. What's New in the Classroom? A variety of advanced features have been added to the new classrooms to elevate the quality of instruction. These include simulated entrance facilities, equipment rooms, telecommunications rooms, flexible workstations, dual projection screens, switching and capacitive touch control, lecture capture/live streaming, 4K laser projectors and ceiling-mounted 4K docu- ment cameras capable of projecting even the smallest of optical fiber-related items. Audio enhancements, such as the addition of sound masking and upgrades to the amplifier, pendant speakers and micro- phones, were also made to the training rooms. Enhanced Learning Experience All these technological enhancements make for an extremely productive classroom experience. • Individual workstations combined with increased classroom equip- ment and tools facilitate students' hands-on activities. • State-of-the-art equipment and technology give students a first- hand understanding of what they will encounter in the modern world. • Open ceilings allow displays of actual installation practices. • Students get an up-close look at what the instructor is demonstrating when it is projected and magnified on a large screen. • The open view of a modern equipment room allows students to see today's industry standards and best practices in use.
