Tim joined Samsung in 2006 as executive vice president of sales and marketing for the consumer electronics division before being promoted to president in January 2009, COO in December 2014, and CEO in May 2017. As President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, Tim Baxter was responsible for the continued growth and success of Samsung's $30 billion+ consumer and enterprises businesses. Tim was responsible for all aspects of the organization, including Consumer Electronics, Mobile, Marketing, Customer Care, B2B, Services and New Business, etc., in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining Samsung, Tim spent 10 years at Sony Corporation of America, where he rose to senior vice president of strategic marketing. He also spent 13 years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies leading marketing, product management and sales for various categories in their residential phone businesses. Tim lives in PA and NJ with his wife and has three grown children. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He holds an honorary degree from Roger Williams University and an honorary doctorate from South Carolina State University. Tim also serves on the Board of Directors for the CTIA, Junior Achievement USA and the ADL-CE board and is active with Covenant House of NJ. Tim enjoys spending time with family, fishing, golfing, sports and giving back to communities.
