Check out the latest accomplishments by ABC representatives working hard on your behalf. Almond Board of California and the Almond Pest Management Alliance Team The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) recently presented the Almond Board and collaborating researchers from the University of California, USDA Agricultural Research Service and Almond Pest Management Alliance Team (a private sector group), with the 2019 IPM Innovator Award. This award recognizes the group's work in upgrading integrated pest management (IPM) in almonds to include mating disruption for Navel Orangeworm on operations as small as 40 acres or less. ABC staff and members of the Almond Pest Management Alliance Team accepted the award at the IPM Achievement Awards ceremony hosted by DPR Director Val Dolcini on Feb. 20. This is the third time ABC has received this award. Bob Curtis Former ABC Director of Agricultural Affairs Bob Curtis received two awards for his service to the pollinator community. At a recent California State Beekeepers Association (CSBA) convention, Curtis received the Eric Mussen Distinguished Service Award, recognizing his years of involvement with CSBA. Curtis worked closely with Mussen and several other experts to develop ABC's Honey Bee Best Management Practices in 2014. Curtis also received the Friend of the Industry Award at the 50th annual American Honey Producers Association (AHPA) convention. "It is a distinct honor and a pleasure to work with these organizations and the broader beekeeping community," said Curtis. Almond Board of California Global Market Development Team The Almond Board's first marketing campaign in Italy, "Recharge Your Day," recently won three prestigious awards. In Nov. 2019, the campaign won an award from the National Association for Communications Agencies in the Brand Building category, which recognizes tactics that are especially creative, strategic and harness noteworthy results. Then in Dec. 2019, the campaign's social media creative design received an honorable mention at the Social Creative Awards. Later that month the campaign received bronze in the Outbound category at the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Europe awards ceremony. This award was especially exciting due to the competitive nature of the IMC European awards. Bob Curtis (center) receiving the Friend of the Industry Award.
