As the field of credentialing and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry continue to evolve, so do BICSI credentials and certifications. BICSI values career growth and is dedicated to providing career paths for individ- uals in the global ICT community. In 2016, BICSI's Board of Directors kicked off a Credentialing 2020 strategic initiative to modernize and advance BICSI's credentialing programs. BICSI's Registration and Credentials Supervision Committee (RCSC) has been work- ing diligently with globally diverse volunteer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who hold BICSI credentials, as well as with credentialing and testing consultants who specialize in the design of credentialing systems, in achieving this strategic initiative. Following Credentialing Best Practices & Standards BICSI credentialing and certifications are evolv- ing and we would like to share those changes with you. We want to ensure you that BICSI follows established credentialing best practices and standards in our development and mod- ernization processes. With this, we want to make certain that BICSI provides an accessible, relevant and meaningful credentialing career path for the ICT profession. Expanded Exam Eligibility Options In expanding our exam eligibility criteria, we've taken a more inclusive look at the variety of ways individuals can acquire their ICT knowl- edge. Eligibility updates include holding other BICSI credentials and can incorporate training and education qualifications. By taking a broader look at these criteria, we can help open doors and align the proper stepping- stones to a well-suited BICSI ICT career path. Our goal remains to provide an accessible, relevant and meaningful ICT credentialing career path, one that advances with both the individual and the industry over time.
