The clients remodeled this kitchen 10 years
ago but were tired of the dark, dated look.
They wanted to brighten the space and
maintain the original layout. To achieve this,
the dark countertops and cabinets, tumbled
marbled backsplash and double height bar
were removed. New LED fixtures, bright white
cabinetry and light countertops now reflect
the natural light in the room. Lowering the bar
top increased entertaining and serving
space while expanding the sight lines into the
kitchen. A light gray marble tile backsplash
complements the color scheme while dark
hardwood floors now stand out against the
light space.

Bi-coastal clients purchased this property for
their retirement and as a modern family retreat
for their grown children and grandchildren. She
loves to cook and he is a wine collector, so a
new kitchen design with plenty of storage and
gathering space, plus a wine cellar and wet bar,
were top priorities. Two complete guest suites
on the upper-level create privacy for long-term
visitors; His and Hers master bedrooms with a
shared master bathroom make a quiet getaway
area for the grandparents on the lower level. A
large deck expands the interior space to the
exterior and its spectacular mountain-lake
views.
