Gelatin for softgels
EC gelatin allows for one-step pro-
duction of clear enteric capsules using
existing equipment. Enteric gelatin
reduces production time and cost by
eliminating the need to coat fresh
softgels with an acid-insoluble film
coating, which is opaque and less
desired by consumers. Enteric gelatin
also minimizes the effects of ingest-
ing fish oil and other omega-3 fatty
acids, including fishy burps and after-
tastes. Capsules comply with USP
dissolution parameters.
