Research for a Stronger Industry Advancing Almonds Globally Almonds continue leading new product introductions globally. In 2019, almond introductions increased by 12.6%, greatly outpacing all nut introductions (+8.2%) and total food introductions (+6.9%). 4 Almonds included in USDA's Coronavirus Food Assistance Program and Section 32 food purchase program through efforts led by the Almond Board and Almond Alliance of California. ABC global marketing and trade teams host tours for international media and leading food and beverage brands at harvest and bloom to share the California almond story. ABC partners with the most-decorated beach volleyball athlete Kerri Walsh Jennings leading up to the 2021 Summer Olympics to promote consumption of California almonds.
