YIELD: 12
INGREDIENTS:
• 1 batch Master Dough recipe
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons cinnamon
• 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
• 2 tablespoons butter, softened
• 1 1/4 cup confectioners powdered sugar
• 1/4 cup half & half (or milk)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS:
1. Punch down the dough and turn out onto a lightly floured
work surface. Allow to rest for 15 minutes.
2. Preheat the oven to 350°.
3. Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder in a
small bowl.
4. After the dough has rested, roll it out to a half inch thick
and about 15x12 inches wide.
5. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter onto the flat dough.
Sprinkle all the cinnamon, sugar, and chocolate mixture on
top of the buttered dough.
6. Fold rectangle in thirds, like a letter. Cut the rectangle into
12 strips. Twist each strip and pinch ends under slightly to
keep from unraveling. Lay on a baking sheet about an
inch and a half apart. Cover with plastic wrap that is coated
with cooking spray. Let rise until almost doubled and bake
uncovered at 350° for 20-30 minutes, or until lightly
browned and done in center. Cool slightly.
7. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, half &
half, and vanilla. Drizzle over the tops of the warm twisted
cinnamon sticks and serve!
