The Xelum continuous manufacturing platform offers high fl exibility, shorter development
times and ultimately a lower production cost. Minimal API usage and direct transfer from
development to production without the need for scale up are some of the key market
requirements that Xelum addresses. Precise dosing (below 1% API) can be easily achieved
through a mass dosing instead of a mass fl ow dosing. Xelum utilizes already proven fl uid
bed granulation technology as opposed to twin screw for granulation. This allows a superior
granule quality to be achieved and eliminates any need for the transfer of wet product.
Besides wet granulation, the Xelum platform also offers direct compression, direct
encapsulation, and can integrate any dry granulation technology.
