This couple's basement remodel wish list included
an exercise room, movie theater, fireplace sitting area,
guest bedroom, full-sized master bathroom, full bar,
entertainment and pool table area, and a tray ceiling.
The new basement fulfills all their requests. Trim work,
crown molding, tray ceilings, wainscotting, wide-plank
engineered flooring, matching stairs and railings help
transform this basement into a jewel. Project features
include a movie theater room with multi-level seating,
sound panel walls, recliner seats, a 120-inch screen, a
state-of-the-art AV system, custom pattern carpeting,
surround sound, and custom mahogany theater doors.
The bar area features a copper-panel ceiling, cherry
cabinets and dark-granite countertops.

The owners wanted to remodel their
dark, dirty and pretty scary DC basement
so their children would have a safe place
to play. It also needed to do double duty
as a guest space for visiting grandparents.
Multiple surprises along the way made
this project a true labor of love. Beautiful
built-ins, radiant heat and clean spaces
make this a dramatic transformation.The
clients have achieved their dream of a
bright light-filled space that doesn't feel
like a basement.
