he creative spirit of late Blackfeet artist
Kingsley "King" Kuka will be on full display at
the First Peoples Buffalo Jump Art Show this
Special Edition Western Art Week.
Kuka's paintings and lithographs are
recognized internationally, and one is said to
be a part of the prestigious collection at the
Vatican in Rome. He has long been hailed
for having inspired an entire generation of
American Indian artists.
Works by Kuka's family members –
including pastels, metal art, and a variety of
other mediums – will also be on display.
"Some of Kuka's family representatives will
be there, so people will be able to speak
with the artists while they look around," Park
Manager Clark Carlson-Thompson says. "It's
a very low-key atmosphere."
The Kuka family also invites visitors to take
part in their free raffle.
