Missouri Falls Fine Arts Show
Supporting Montana's Next Generation of Western Artists
T
By Holly Matkin
he Arts Association of Montana (AAM) is hosting its 8th annual Missouri
Falls Fine Arts Show at the History Museum this year, ushering in a parade of
12 talented artists specializing in a wide variety of media.
You'll find a little bit of everything at this event, including collage,
ceramics, mixed-media, photography, and calligraphy, as well as an
assortment of lithograph prints, drawings and paintings.
In continuing its mission to foster art appreciation, enrichment and
education, the non-profit AAM will again be awarding the Val Knight
High School Scholarship to three Great Falls senior high school students
nominated for the honor by their art teachers.
Funding for the scholarships is provided by a portion of AAM members'
dues, as well as through the group's annual raffle during Western Art Week.
Each artist contributes an original work of art to the cause, and only 150
tickets will be sold. They cost just $5 apiece.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet up with this year's featured
artists, Steve Nelson and Diane Hausmann.
Steve creates highly representative Montana landscapes – especially
mountain scenes. Wildlife, horses, tipis, and other western icons are among
his favorite muses.
