MAY 2022 RETAILOBSERVER.COM 37 Brickell Condo This 1970s project Brickell Condo renovation was a full demolition and redo of the interior architecture and interior design. Innovation in every aspect of design and construction was included in the scope of work. The layout and finishes of the interior spaces were conceived to transition seamlessly from one to another with the help of a curated natural and artificial lighting design. Located at the very end of the master suite, and completely lacking natural light, the master bath was the most challenging space of the project. The ceiling waves emphasize our design intention but also help disguise the existing plumbing pipes. To promote a sense of spaciousness and bring the outside in, we appealed to color and curves that evoked the ocean waves to compose a seamless transition between the shower and the rest of the bathroom area. Big-format stones on one side, and a full mirrored wall on the other eliminate visual clutter in the whole space At the conclusion of our intervention, we were able to achieve a spacious vanity with double sink full of undercabinet storage, a toilet alcove providing comfort and privacy and a curbless shower that doubled the space compared to the previous one. This project offers the latest in-home automation, integrating lighting control, drapery, climate control, tv and audio systems. Modern Industrial Powder Bath Ooooh, that faucet! Highlighting this very unique tall curved chrome faucet was critical. This was achieved by adding texture in the background tile with the Ballistic Armor backsplash, and taking it all the way up the 10' ceiling flanking the tall mirror. A custom concrete floating sink was designed with an angled side drain to balance the shape and size of the tall faucet. The thick front edge adds some visual weight to attach the floating rift oak cabinetry. Pin lights highlight the faucet and textured backsplash. A wall-mount toilet was used for space saving and to keep within the floating theme in the space. Design solutions included: a cool and unique tall 3' chrome faucet was carefully chosen to accentuate the height of the space; the mirror, sink and faucet are offset to create some asymmetry; a custom concrete sink and integral countertop with angled side drain adds a unique look and feel; tile and concrete materials were used to add the modern yet industrial feel; undercabinet lighting and pin lights on dimmers help create the moody feel; lots of storage and room for display in the floating cabinetry – rift oak in a dark stain was chosen for its modern appeal and to complement the other materials within the space.
