ARI's Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards are the
premier awards for the remodeling industry. The
CotY national awards are given once a year to
recognize excellence in remodeling, as demonstrated in up
to forty-eight categories.
NARI members from across the nation may submit a project
for consideration. All projects submitted for judging are an
improvement or an addition to an existing structure, with the
exception of one category: "Residential Detached Structure."
Otherwise, new construction projects are not eligible.
An impartial panel of judges, all experts in the industry or
associated fields, select the winners. They review before-
and-after photos and project descriptions for each
anonymized entry. Their evaluations focus on the categories
of problem-solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship,
innovation, degree of functionality and entry presentation.
