International Ministries 39 T he king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes (Proverbs 21:1), quoted Raymond Koffi, Capitol Ministries' director for non-English speaking African nations. Reaching the hearts of those who lead non-English-speak- ing African nations for God is a primary reason Pastor Koffi became involved with Capitol Ministries. Pastor Raymond is very well-known in many nations across the continent be- cause he is host of the popular Christian Broadcasting Net- work television ministry "Le Club 700," the affiliate of "e 700 Club" program hosted in the U.S. by Gordon Robertson. "Le Club 700" airs in French-speaking countries throughout the world. Politically astute and a strong believer, Pastor Raymond is well-known and highly respected in political as well as faith communities. His work has been very beneficial in helping Capitol Ministries organize training conferences in Africa, recruit qualified ministry leaders, and spread the word about our mission. "I want to help bring Capitol Ministries and its life-changing mission of sharing the gospel with political leaders to African nations," he said. "Where there are strug- gles, poverty, misery, and a thirst for freedom and dignity, the gospel has a hope and a purpose to fulfill through Christ's gi of salvation." Pastor Raymond is working with Obi and Jon to recruit and vet ministry leader candidates for CapMin's 2022 Re- cruitment and Training Conference in Cape Town, Africa. Obi, a former chemistry-tutor-turned-clerg yman, and his wife, Martha, a former pharmacist, are ministry partners who, for many years, have taught the Word of God to their nation's leaders. e couple served as special assistants to Nigeria's immediate past president from 2007 to 2015. Obi served as the president's chaplain in the State House, where many Christian public servants worshiped. Currently, the Onwuzurumbas are individually minis- tering to former and current legislators and politicians and holding Bible studies when possible. e couple also minis- ters to civil servant fellowship groups, which are numerous. As much as possible, Obi adapts and uses Capitol Ministries' Bible studies, which he describes as "rich and comprehen- sive." "We have chosen to be part of Capitol Ministries, hav- ing seen the need to more effectively reach our politicians and top civil servants with the life-transforming gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through Bible studies," Obi said. "We believe that they will be better leaders if they respond pos- itively, and our country will be better for it. ank you for the opportunity to share our dreams and aspirations in our service for our Lord Jesus Christ." Obi works to recruit and vet other ministry leader candi- dates for English-speaking African nations and is currently working diligently in that regard relative to CapMin's Re- cruiting and Training Conference in Cape Town, Africa in October of 2022.
