Reformulating pMDIs with greener propellants Currently marketed pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI) products are under scrutiny due to the high global warming potential of the main propellant con- stituent of their formulations. In light of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and increasing focus on environmental, social, and corporate gover- nance (ESG) themes in general, many pharmaceu- tical companies are looking at re-formulating these products with newer, greener propellant technologies.
