BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ELECTED BY THE PUBLIC AND RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING POLICY Greetings everyone, The Morton Grove Park District's Board of Park Commissioners and staff hope you are having a wonderful summer. Many months of planning went into our summer offerings and, just think, the Recreation Department is working diligently on planning for fall and winter activities and events for you. When you think of the park district, you might immediately remember the programs or events you have participated in or attended. Why not, you might have fond memories of being with family and friends. The social interactions and connections you make while participating in activities and events relates to your satisfaction with the activity and event, and to a larger extent, the Park District as a whole. When you view these social interactions in their broader context, the park district is a vital part of the "fabric of the community." This "fabric" is the relationships and connections we make with one another; making us all a part of the common thread of society as a whole. This fabric is made when all residents interact with one another. The more closely the knit of the weave or the more residents interact with each other through positive and enthusiastic interaction, the stronger the fabric. The park district attempts to facilitate this through community-wide special events such as concerts in the park, movie nights, and so many more. These events provide opportunities for neighbors to interact with one another, to gain an understanding of one another, and to learn and appreciate our differences. The park district is more than recreation and parks. We are here to help Morton Grove grow "amazingly close." It is our mission to complement our community's quality of life, economic capacity, health and wellness through recreational opportunities while protecting natural resources. You help us achieve this by your interactions with us whether it's through your participation or your input through surveys, questionnaires, and community input meetings. Together we help form stronger threads that make Morton Grove a great place to work, play, and live.
